Itinerary Details Day by Day
Day 1 Xian Arrival
Welcome to Xian! Upon your arrival at the the airport, you will be met and escorted to your hotel, and have a rest.
After enjoying the lunch at a local famous restaurant, your Xian city tour begins with a visit to the Shaanxi History Museum and the Grand Mosque.
Return to your hotel after making some pictures of the Ancient City Wall and roaming on the Local Free Market.
Day 2 Xian ( B, L, D )
In the morning, be picked up at your hotel then driven to the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses-the most significant archeological excavations of the 20th century, which is one of the most popular tourist spots not to be missed by any visitor to China.
After lunch, move on to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Relievos of Silkroad-Starting-Point; enjoy the local special Dumpling Dinner served in a fine restaurant in the evening.
Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses
Day 3 Xian flight to Dunhuang; Dunhuang ( B, L )
Today, after breakfast, be driven to the airport for the morning flight to Dunhuang. Upon your arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel in Dunhuang.
After lunch, visit the Echoing-Sand Dune. Ride on the backs of camels and climb to get to the top of the dune. Along the way, there are splendid sights: golden sand, the rolling desert, a tranquil lake and the beautiful sunset. Also, you’ll never miss out on the Crescent Lake, a crescent-shaped lake in an oasis, 6km south of the city of Dunhuang.

Day 4 Dunhuang; Dunhuang train to Turpan ( B, L )
You’ll have a full day tour of Dunhuang, and the highlights are Mogao Grottoes and Dunhuang Museum.
Mogao Grottoes: also known as the Caves of the Thousand Buddhas, an oasis strategically located at a religious and cultural crossroads on the Silk Road.
Dunhuang Museum: Boasting a rich collection of over 4000 pieces of precious cultural and historical relics, the museum reflects the flourishing social development and cultural exchange between China and the West during the time when Dunhuang was a major center along the Silk Road.
After the tour, be escorted to the train station and take an overnight train to Turpan.
Mogao Grottoes
Day 5 Turpan ( B, L )
You’ll arrive at Turpan early in the morning, and be met and transferred to your hotel in Turpan by your local guide.
After breakfast and have a rest, your first stop of Turpan day tour is to visit Jiaohe Ancient City, the site of an ancient oasis city built on the northern rim of the Taklamakan Desert in Xinjiang. Flaming Mountain is now a famous tourist attraction, with its harsh yet unique natural conditions. Afterwards, go to see the Astana Tombs, which is the site where the ancient people of the Gaochang city are buried. It is famous for its terracotta figurines and tomb paintings.
After lunch, you’ll head to visit the Grape Valley, on the west of Flaming Mountains, east of Turpan is the Grape Valley, a green area of 988 acres covered with layer upon layer of grapes.
Later, go to visit the Karez Wells. This irrigation system of wells connected by underground channels is considered to be one of the three great ancient projects in China.

Day 6 Turpan drive to Urumqi; Urumqi ( B, L )
Today after breakfast, you’ll drive to Urumqi and go to have a boat cruise on the Heavenly Lake (Tian Chi), a beautiful blue mountain lake. The blue lake water is finely contrasted with steep forest hills, high meadows and snowy Heavenly Mountain peaks behind. There you can also walk, take electric carts or cable cars.
After having a Uygur style lunch, you’ll head to the Erdaoqiao Market, the largest in Urumqi, where you’ll find a bustling market filled with fruit, clothing, crafts, knives, carpets and almost anything that you can imagine.

Amazing Heavanly Lake
Day 7 Urumqi flight to Kashgar; Kashgar ( B, L )
Today after breakfast, you’ll be transferred for the first flight to Kashgar. Upon your arrival, your local guide will met you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Have a rest!
After lunch, head to visit the largest mosque, ld Kah Mosque, and every Friday, it holds about 10,000 worshippers and may house up to 20,000. Afterwards, go to visit the Abakh Khoja Tomb, the 17th Century family cemetery of the Kashgar area Islamic leader, and the Sunday Bazaar is a necessary. There are over 20 large scale bazaars in Kashgar and the one located at the East Gate is the largest.

ld Kah Mosque
Day 8 Kashgar - Karakul Lake - Kashgar ( B, L )
Full day round trip to the Lake Karakuli, about 190km from Kashgar. Karakuli Lake is a sparking glacial lake located at the foot of “the Father of Glaciers” – Muztagata Mountains. A railway connnecting China with Pakistan goes by the lake. The lake is famous for its beautiful scenery and clarity. Colors of its water range from light to dark under reflection.

Karakuli Lake
Day 9 Kashgar flight to Urumqi ( B, L )
Today after breakfast, head to the airport and take flight back to Urumqi. You’ll be met and transferred to your hotel in Urumqi and the rest of today is free at your leisure.

Day 10 Urumqi Departure ( B )
Being free until your tour guide will pick you up to the airport for the flight to your next destination.
