Itinerary Details Day by Day

Day 1 Lhasa Arrival
You are warmly welcome to Tibet by saying Tashi Delek at the Train station/airport by our professional employee and send you to reserved hotel in Lhasa. After arrival at your hotel, the rest of the day is free for you to explore the local area and acclimatize yourself to this high altitude city at the top of the world.
Day 2 Lhasa ( B )
In the morning, explore the famous Potala Palace, experience its audience halls, the jeweled and golden burial chortens (stupa tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, and Thang-kas, a unique Tibetan painting etc. In the afternoon, visit the holiest temple in Tibet, the Jokhang Temple, and its famous Barkor Street, where you can buy or appreciate traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thang-kas, and tradition Tibetan clothes etc.

Day 3 Lhasa ( B )
Today, you will visit two important monasteries in Lhasa, the Drepung Monastery and the Sera Monastery. Drepung Monastery was once home of 10,000 monks and Ganden Podrang in Drepung is famous as the government’s centre during the fifth Dalai Lama. In the afternoon, visit Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa’s disciple Jamchen Choeje.

Drepung Monastery
Day 4 Lhasa/Yamdro-tso lake/Gyangtse/ Shigatse ( B )
Passing by the green farmland of Nyangchu Valley, Yamdro-tso lakes, Karo-la glacier roadside at 4,960m, move westwards to the second biggest city Shigatse, which is spiritually hosted by Pamchan Lama. Yamdro-tso Lake, shaped like a coiling scorpion in dark blue and Kubum monastery in Gyantse, having a 35m-high chorten (stupa) with its white layers trimmed with decorative stripes and crown-like golden dome.

Day 5 Shigatse/ Lhatse/ Tingri (Shegar)/ Rongpuk Monastery ( B )
Drive westwards to Tingri, passing by Lhaste. There is about 90km bumpy road from Tingri to Rongpuk Monastery, the No.1 highest monastery in the world and located at the foot of Mount Qomolangma. Along the way from Tingri to Everest Base Camp with the very rough road, the wild grassland, rapid rivers, and high mountains will bring you completely fresh feelings. In good weather, you can have a glimpse of 4 mountains of 8,000ms high or more, such as Mt. Lhotse(8,516ms), Mt. Everest (8,848ms), Mt. Qowowuyag (8,201ms), Mt Mayalu (8,463ms).

Day 6 Rongpuk Monastery/Everest Base Camp/Shigatse ( B )
Early in the morning to see the sunrise from Rongpuk, then explore Mt. Everest. Get on the local bus and after half of an hour, arrive at Everest Base camp (or trek to the Base Camp around 1.5-2 hours one way as you like). At the top point, take pictures of the splendid- Mt. Everest. Then around 13:00pm, we will be back to Tingri along with friend-ship highway after getting down from E.B.C, and then we will reture back to Shigatse.

Day 7 Shigatse to Lhasa( B )
Before back to Lhasa from Shigatse, you will pay a visit to the largest monastery in west Tibet, the Tashilumpo Monastery, formally listed as a key national cultural protection site. Built in 1447 by a disciple of Tsongkapa, Tashilunpo monastery has the world's largest copper-gilded image (26ms high) of future god, Jampa. Drive along the Friend-ship Highway back to Lhasa.

Today you'll be free at first, and then will be escorted to the airport and catch your flight to next destination. Service ends.
